We want you to give with confidence. This policy explains how donations, refunds, and recurring gifts work at Good Heart Foundation — clearly and fairly.
We want every supporter to give with confidence. This policy explains, in plain language, how donations work at Good Heart Foundation, when a refund may be available, and how to cancel a recurring gift — so there are no surprises when you choose to help.
Good Heart Foundation is a U.S.-based 501(c)(3) nonprofit charitable crowdfunding platform (EIN 38-4409571). Because contributions reach real causes quickly, donations are generally final once processed. At the same time, we review every genuine concern fairly, in good faith, and on a case-by-case basis, and we offer donor protections for duplicate charges, incorrect amounts, technical errors, unauthorized transactions, and confirmed campaign fraud. The sections below walk through exactly how that works.
This policy works alongside our Terms of Use. If anything here is unclear, please contact us — we're glad to help.
Good Heart Foundation does not use donor accounts — you give by checking out directly, choosing a one-time or recurring (monthly) donation. Payments are handled by a secure third-party payment processor (such as Stripe); we do not store your full card details on our systems.
Good Heart Foundation acts as an intermediary: the funds you donate are allocated to the campaign or cause you select, often shortly after your donation is processed. Because support reaches real causes so quickly, donations made through our platform are generally final and non-refundable once processed. This reflects standard practice across major U.S. charitable-giving and crowdfunding platforms and helps your generosity reach the people and causes who need it without delay.
That said, we recognize that genuine mistakes and problems do happen. The situations in Section 3 describe when a refund may still be appropriate.
Even though donations are generally final, we want to make things right when something clearly went wrong. We may grant a refund, at our reasonable discretion and after review, in situations such as:
If your situation fits one of these, please reach out — we're here to help resolve it.
To keep support flowing reliably to real causes, refunds are generally not available in situations such as:
A donation is a charitable contribution toward a cause — not the purchase of a guaranteed result, timeline, or outcome. Where fraud or a verified error is involved, Section 3 applies instead.
Here's how fees factor into any refund, so you know what to expect.
Because we don't use donor accounts, a few details help us locate your donation quickly. When you contact us, please include:
Send your request by email to contact@goodheartfoundation.co or through our Contact Us page. The more complete your details, the faster we can help.
Every request receives a good-faith review. Once we have the details in Section 6, we typically respond within 5–7 business days to confirm next steps or let you know our decision.
To protect donors and the causes we serve, we may ask for additional information to verify a payment — for example, confirmation of the payment method or the transaction details. Refunds outside the eligible categories in Section 3 are considered at Good Heart Foundation's reasonable discretion, and we'll always explain our decision.
If your refund is approved, we process it promptly and return it to the original payment method used for the donation. We cannot redirect a refund to a different card or account.
Once approved, refunds are typically completed within 5–10 business days, though the exact timing depends on your bank or card issuer and is outside our control. If you don't see the refund after that window, let us know and we'll help follow up.
Thank you to our monthly supporters — recurring gifts provide steady, dependable help that lets causes plan ahead. You're always in control of them.
Because we don't use accounts or dashboards, our team handles cancellations directly for you. To cancel, simply contact us using the email address you used at checkout, and we'll take care of it promptly and confirm when it's done.
If something doesn't look right with a donation, please contact us first. In nearly all cases we can resolve the issue directly — and usually faster than a formal bank dispute.
Filing a chargeback or payment dispute before reaching out can delay resolution and, because funds may already be allocated, can pull support away from the campaign and its organizer. We reserve the right to respond to disputes with documentation of the transaction, and to decline or contest activity that shows signs of chargeback abuse — such as repeated or coordinated refund or chargeback attempts, or efforts to reverse legitimate, completed donations. These measures keep Good Heart Foundation safe and trustworthy for everyone.
Protecting donors, organizers, and the integrity of our platform is a priority. If you believe a campaign is fraudulent or misusing funds, please report it to us at contact@goodheartfoundation.co with any supporting details.
We reserve the right to investigate suspected fraud or abuse, to freeze or withhold the disbursement of funds while we review, and to reverse or refund donations connected to activity we confirm to be fraudulent or in violation of our Terms of Use. Where appropriate, we may also cooperate with our payment processor and relevant authorities.
If a donation is refunded, it is no longer a completed charitable contribution and is not tax-deductible. Please adjust your records accordingly, and disregard or set aside any acknowledgment or receipt tied to the refunded amount.
Good Heart Foundation cannot provide tax advice. For questions about how a refund affects your tax situation, please consult a qualified tax advisor.
We may update this Refund & Cancellation Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices, our payment processor, or applicable law. When we do, we'll revise the "Last updated" date shown at the top of this page, and material changes take effect when posted.
Your continued use of Good Heart Foundation after an update means you accept the revised policy. We encourage you to review this page periodically.
