We take your privacy seriously. This policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your personal information.
Good Heart Foundation ("Good Heart Foundation," "we," "us," or "our") is a United States–based 501(c)(3) nonprofit charitable crowdfunding platform that has, since 2024, connected generous donors with campaigns and causes serving communities across America. We take your privacy seriously, and we believe that giving should feel safe, simple, and transparent.
This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, how and when we share it, and the choices and rights you have. It applies to visitors to our website and to anyone who donates to a campaign through our platform.
No accounts, no passwords, no dashboards. Good Heart Foundation does not offer or require user accounts, logins, passwords, or donor dashboards. To give, you simply choose a campaign, pick an amount, and complete a secure checkout — either as a one-time gift or as a recurring (monthly) donation. Because there are no accounts, we collect only the limited information needed to process your donation, send your receipt, keep the platform secure, and comply with the law.
By using our platform or making a donation, you agree to the practices described in this Privacy Policy. Please also review our Terms of Use, which govern your use of the platform.
We collect information you provide directly when you donate or contact us, information handled by our payment processor, information gathered automatically through your device, and limited information from trusted third parties.
(a) Information you provide. When you make a donation, you typically provide:
If you organize or are otherwise associated with a campaign, we may also collect information needed to set up, verify, and pay out that campaign, such as contact details and verification or eligibility information requested as part of our trust-and-safety process.
(b) Payment information. Donations are processed by a secure, PCI-compliant third-party payment processor (such as Stripe). You enter your card or payment details directly with the processor, and the processor handles that data. Good Heart Foundation does not collect or store full payment card numbers. We receive a confirmation of your payment and limited details such as the amount, date, payment status, and a truncated identifier (for example, the last four digits or a card brand) to reconcile donations, issue receipts, and prevent fraud.
(c) Information collected automatically. When you visit our platform, we and our service providers automatically collect certain technical and usage data, including:
(d) Information from third parties. We may receive information from our payment processor (such as payment confirmations and fraud signals), from anti-fraud and security providers, and from analytics and advertising platforms that help us understand how visitors find and use our platform.
We use the information we collect to:
If you are located in the European Economic Area (EEA), the United Kingdom, or another region with similar laws, we rely on the following legal bases to process your personal information:
We use cookies and similar technologies (such as pixels, tags, and local storage) to operate our platform, keep it secure, understand how it is used, and measure our advertising. Cookies are small files stored on your device.
We use the following categories:
You can control cookies through your browser settings, including blocking or deleting them. Many advertising platforms also offer their own controls (see Section 7). Disabling some cookies may affect how parts of the platform work.
Do Not Track & Global Privacy Control. Some browsers offer a "Do Not Track" (DNT) signal. Because there is no common industry standard for DNT, we do not currently respond to DNT signals. Where required by law, we honor recognized opt-out preference signals such as the Global Privacy Control (GPC).
We do not sell your personal data. We share information only in the limited circumstances below:
We use analytics and advertising technologies — including the Meta (Facebook) Pixel, the TikTok Pixel, and general web analytics — to understand how people discover and use our platform, to measure the effectiveness of our campaigns, and in some cases to show relevant content or re-engage visitors who have shown interest (remarketing).
You have choices about advertising:
We keep personal information only for as long as needed for the purposes described in this policy. Donation and payment records are retained as required to meet our tax, accounting, audit, and other legal obligations, and to support fraud prevention and dispute resolution. When information is no longer needed, we delete it or de-identify it.
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards to protect your information, including encryption in transit, use of a PCI-compliant payment processor, and limiting access to personal data to those who need it. However, no method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
If you believe your information or a donation may have been compromised, please contact us promptly at contact@goodheartfoundation.co.
Good Heart Foundation is based in the United States, and our service providers may process information in the United States and other countries. If you access our platform from outside the United States, your information may be transferred to, stored in, and processed in the U.S., where data protection laws may differ from those in your country. Where required, we take steps to provide appropriate safeguards for such transfers.
Depending on where you live, you may have some or all of the following rights regarding your personal information:
To exercise any of these rights, contact us by email at contact@goodheartfoundation.co or through our contact form. We will respond as required by applicable law, and we will not discriminate against you for exercising your rights.
If you are a California resident, the California Consumer Privacy Act, as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act (CCPA/CPRA), gives you certain rights regarding your personal information.
In the past 12 months, we may have collected the following categories of personal information: identifiers (such as name, email, and IP address); commercial information (such as donation records); internet or network activity (such as usage and device data); approximate geolocation; and audio or electronic information you send us (such as messages).
Subject to certain exceptions, you have the right to:
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not knowingly share it in exchange for money. We will not discriminate against you for exercising your CCPA/CPRA rights. To make a request, contact us at contact@goodheartfoundation.co or via our contact form.
If you are in the EEA or the United Kingdom, you have the rights described in Section 11, including the rights to access, correct, delete, restrict, object to, and port your personal information, as provided under the GDPR and UK GDPR. You also have the right to withdraw consent where we rely on it.
If you believe we have not handled your information properly, you have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority or supervisory authority. We would, however, appreciate the chance to address your concerns first — please contact us at contact@goodheartfoundation.co.
Our platform is intended for adults, and donating is directed to individuals who are at least 18 years old. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will take appropriate steps to delete it.
Our platform may contain links to third-party websites, services, or resources that we do not operate or control, including payment and social media platforms. This Privacy Policy does not apply to those third parties. We encourage you to review the privacy policies of any website or service you visit.
We send transactional emails — such as donation receipts and confirmations — because they are necessary to complete and document the donation you request. These messages are not marketing, and you cannot opt out of receiving them while you are making donations.
Any optional updates, such as news about campaigns or our mission, are separate. Where offered, you can opt out of these non-essential emails at any time by using the unsubscribe link in the message or by contacting us at contact@goodheartfoundation.co.
If we become aware of a security incident that affects your personal information, we will notify affected individuals and the relevant authorities as required by applicable law, and we will take reasonable steps to investigate and address the incident.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices, technologies, or legal requirements. When we do, we will post the revised policy on this page and update the "Last updated" date above. Significant changes may be highlighted on the platform. Your continued use of our platform after an update means you accept the revised policy.
